Honor a loved one with our new Salem Christmas tradition

Salem's new Angel Tree will honor treasured family and friends who have passed away. Just as Angels greet our loved ones in Heaven, Angels will also herald their memory here at Salem during the Christmas season.

The 2020 tree will be on display every Sunday in December, beginning on December 6th through December 27th. We invite you to share the memory of your loved one(s) through this new Salem tribute.

Your loved one can be remembered on the new Angel Tribute Tree with an angel-themed ornament and a special tag you fill out with the name of your loved one and the year they passed away. To make it easy to participate in this tribute, a selection of angel ornaments will be available to purchase at the price of $5.00 per ornament.

If you prefer to submit an angel ornament independently purchased or create one from scratch, the following guidelines apply:

  • Ornament must be non-breakable (made from materials such as plastic, cloth, metal, or wood).

  • Ornament colors should coordinate with the Angel tree theme colors of white, silver, gold or natural/neutrals.

  • The ornament size is limited to 5 inches or less.

  • Submissions are due at the information table no later than Sunday, November 29, 2020. This deadline is necessary to allow sufficient time to decorate the Angel Tree for its December 6th inauguration.

At the end of the Christmas Season, the angel ornaments will be labeled and stored with their name tags for use in future years of this new annual tribute.

An information table will be located outside each Sunday service in November to answer your questions. If you would like to volunteer to help with this special project, please see Kate Maxey at the information table or contact the church office.
