A place To BelonG
Life changes, God does not.

Being a student is incredibly difficult! Between Junior High and College are a lot of big decisions in life, and making them can be overwhelming.  These are also the years where you decide to take hold of your faith for your own and grow deeper in a relationship with God. In the middle of all those changes, as you move from an adolescent to a teenager to an adult, what choices will you make? What kind of person will you be? In what will you place your faith? We believe students can do four things...
  • KNOW - Salem Student Ministry is a place where young people can learn more about what the Bible has to say about the tough questions they face every day, who God is, and that the Bible is relevant to our lives even in the 21st century.
  • GROW - Our students can grow in making God-pleasing choices in every area of their lives. They will also grow deeper faith, stronger trust, and broader understanding of the grace God gives them.
  • SHOW - Students can show their faith through worship, the arts, sharing their testimony, and most of all, lives of service to their friends, family, and communities. Our leaders model lives of Christian faith and service to the world.
  • GO - We believe students are the Church of today, and they can go spread God's Word and make disciples by starting small groups with their peers, organizing servant events, and sharing their faith story with others.

1 Timothy 4:12
"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example
for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity."

Youth Nights

Youth Nights at Salem rotate by age group through the month. Students gather for fellowship, praise, prayer, and a devotion, to grow in faith and community!

CLUB56 is for 5th and 6th graders! We spend the first 30 minutes playing energetic games, often that serve as object lessons for the devotion. After a snack and water, students participate in an interactive devotion before heading home with parents!

JR. HIGH NIGHT is for 7th and 8th grade students the first 30 minutes is spent playing games or doing an activity together. After a snack and water, the students hear a message based on that month's Bible passage, and they head home with parents! Jr. High students also are presented opportunities to do service projects for the community with their families!

HIGH SCHOOL RENEWAL NIGHT is for 9th-12th graders. High School students are pulled in a lot of directions between sports, school, church, work, and applying for colleges. This night is a chance for students to slow down and be renewed by hearing God's Word and spending time in community. Lessons are more conversational and may include games, projects, and more!

COLLEGE NIGHT is for any college students or young adults! It is a time for community, conversation, worship, and prayer. After a time of fellowship, students worship through song, hear a message, and head home. There is usually a raffle as well for gift cards, merch, and more!

"If I can help these kids learn about Jesus, find Him in their heart, and share His grace and love with others - then I feel like I am making a positive difference in our kids' lives as they grow up in this crazy world!"
