The holidays are quickly approaching, and there are many children and families in need both in our community and around the world. Salem has two wonderful opportunities for you to GO Share God's love this Thanksgiving and Christmas!
Operation Christmas Child
Operation Christmas Child delivers great joy and the Good News of Jesus Christ to children in need around the world through gift-filled shoeboxes. Each box packed full of quality toys, school supplies, and personal care items becomes a tangible expression of God's immense love for the child. For many, it is their first gift ever!
Grab a shoebox from Salem or from home and bring it back filled by November 4th (school) or November 6th (church). Find a list of recommended items as well as what is not allowed HERE. Please consider donating $10 to cover shipping costs. You can include cash, a check (made payable to Salem), or donate online.
Thanksgiving Outreach Feast
Seven years ago, Salem decided to shift our focus during the Thanksgiving season to helping people who are battling homelessness and poverty. We started a tradition of providing a delicious feast, live entertainment, and provisions for those in need in partnership with Charity On Wheels and The Salvation Army.
Since then, Salem has provided thousands of meals, sleeping bags, and basic necessities to people in need in our community.
We are pleased to again be partnering with Salvation Army, Anaheim to provide 200+ meals and personal necessity bags for their residents this Thanksgiving.
Will you help sponsor one or more meals for $25 and/or a necessity bags for $10?
Cash or check donations can be dropped off at Salem, or you can make a donation online at https://salemorange.churchcenter.com/giving (please change the fund from "General" to "Thanksgiving Outreach").
We also will need help serving the residents at the center on Saturday, November 19th. and students will have an opportunity to help prepare Necessity Bags after school on Thursday, November 17th. Keep your eyes open for details on how you can help!
